Like most people, you probably toss all your dirty and used clothes in the washing machine and assume the work is done. Doing laundry requires a little more effort than that. Both top and front load washing machines have come a long way, and with smart settings, you don’t have to bother much about what happens during the wash cycle. However, a bit of prep work can be immensely helpful in getting clean, fresh-smelling clothes. In this guide, let’s talk in depth about how to do laundry like a pro.
Skip overusing detergent beyond recommendation
People usually end up using too much detergent, primarily because of the notion that more product would mean cleaner clothes. That usually results in more residue on clothes, for which a process called laundry stripping might be necessary. You just need 1 cap (45 ml) of our Intense Clean liquid detergent for a regular load, while for dirtier loads, 1.5 caps are more than enough.
Don’t overload the machine
Overloading your washing machine prevents water from circulate freely, and as a result, some clothes aren’t as clean and fresh as others. In fact, you will run your machine more often to redo laundry, adding to your utility bills and wasting time, effort, and cleaning supplies. A little less than the full load is ideal.
Sort by both fabric & colour
We all know we should separate whites and light-coloured clothes from dark ones, but do you know that separating your clothes by fabric is just as important?? In other words, your jeans and bedsheets shouldn’t be washed with your delicate shirts, kurtas, and tops. Keep your bulky items separate from regular-wear essentials and sort them for separate loads.
Pretreat all stains
Some stains are just hard to get rid of during a regular cycle. Before you toss stained clothes, consider pre-treating stains with our Liquid Detergent Advance Care. The ideal step would be to treat the stain as soon as you see it, but even if you missed that, ensure you do before the washing cycle.
Don’t keep wet clothes in the machine
Whether you are a top-load or a front-load machine, ensure you take out wet clothes for drying immediately. A couple of hours is okay, but when wet clothes start to dry in the machine, fabrics will start getting stiffer, and expectedly, your clean load wouldn’t smell as fresh anymore. If you made that mistake, opt for a repeat wash cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent.
Always use a fabric conditioner
